Bloggety, Blog, Blog

I read several blogs today containing apologies for not blogging.  Where is the pressure coming from that one feels like they have to excuse themselves for their lack of blogging.  Enough of the guilt and shame from not blogging.  I'll blog when I have something to say, and even then it may not be very interesting.  You in blog world will probably still read it.  You may not comment either, leaving me little motivation to blog again.  We are more than our blogs!  So blog off!

  1. Amen.

By the way, Brook, I don't know if I've ever mentioned how much I love your category titles--especially "Genuinely Random."

  3. LOL. Fairly said Brook. For me it's internal desire more than external pressure that has me apologizing.

  4. First of all, let me say I'm sorry I haven't commented in a while. Ha.

Seriously, though. I am guilty of apologizing after an absence from blogging.

    (after reading previous sentence..)

Great. Now I feel guilty for apologizing.

I will concur with furthermusing that it's more for me when I apologize, because blogging is often the steam release valve on the pressure cooker of my head, and when I don't get the thoughts out regularly, there tends to be a high-pitched whine or sometimes explosion of sorts, and the resulting blog is messy and poorly worded and runs on and on and on and is less creative than a recapitulated "backblog" of ideas.

    Yikes.

  5. you are certainly right in that no apology is needed by one who blogs. but it is interesting that one does apologize for lack of posts on their blog(s) and for absenteeism as well. i've been guilty of this very thing. i guess for me, it's a combination of two things: a feeling of not being a part of a community and a feeling of not tending to something i've started that needs attention.
